How to get married in the State of Florida
  • You must apply for a marriage license at any county clerk office in Florida or online.
  • You must have your marriage license application completed at least 3 days before the ceremony.
  • Your approved marriage license application is good for 60 days from the date approved by the county.
  • Please keep an eye on your marriage license application dates, as the officiant will not sign the marriage license application, if the document is not within the required state of Florida timelines  (meaning you won't be legally married and total ceremony fees are non-refundable).
  • Click here for the application process and requirements in Broward County.
